Much needed advice on lowering antibodies

Hi everyone, I am new here and new to anything thyroid related so please pardon ignorance!

I was diagnosed this week with Hashimoto's and my antibody levels are extremely high. I am undergoing IVF so that is taking priority at the moment but have been prescribed Prenisolone to try and help my body accept the embryo.

I will see a specialist at some point but in the mean time wondered if anyone can let me know of anything I can do, that won't interfere with IVF treatment, to lower my antibody levels?

All help and advice much appreciated, thanks :)

raegrace Adopting a srupulously gluten free diet helps many people reduce the antibody attacks. Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks. Some people also find they also need to be dairy free. Supplementing with selenium also is supposed to help reduce the attacks. Also keeping TSH suppressed helps reduce the attacks. Are you on Levothyroxine and if so what dose?

Have you researched into Hashi's?

Thank you I will look into gluten and dairy free although I am pretty good in that department as it is... I am on 100mcg of thyroxine but think that level might just be to get me through the IVF. There is so much advice out there on what you should and shouldn't eat, getting a little overwhelmed!

Welcome to the forum, Raegrace.

There is no treatment for autoimmune thyroid disease like Hashimoto's but steroids such as Prednisolone may reduce antibodies and adopting 100% gluten-free diet and supplementing 200mcg selenium can help reduce symptoms and antibodies.

Have you been prescribed Levothyroxine for hypothyroidism?

Thank you. Yes I am on 100mcg at the moment but presume the level might drop post IVF...

Hi

Please read the book Hashimotos root cause bu Dr Izabella Wentz. It's got all the info you need to reduce antibodies and get well. It is a very well researched book. The author has documented her own journey through hashimotos. It is available on Amazon.

She also has a supplement/treatment plan at the end of the book including what time of day each supplement should be taken.
