Welcome to the forum, Jess40.
Can you post your recent thyroid results and ranges and any results you have for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate?
Facial hair and cysts on ovaries may be due to PCOS.

Taking 3x ferrous fumarate and 800iu D3
Jess40,
3 x 210mg Ferrous Fumarate is the usual treatment for iron deficiency anaemia. Take each tablet with 1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation. Take iron 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
800iu is insufficient to treat Vitamin D deficiency. Your GP should refer to local guidelines or the cks.nice.org.uk/vitamin-d-d... 800iu which is a maintenance dose prescribed after vitD is replete >75.
B12 is very low. If you have symptoms of deficiency in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... go to healthunlocked.com/pasoc for advice.
Folate is deficient. GP should prescribe 5mg folic acid but check with PAS whether B12 needs treatment before taking folic acid.
PCOS and autoimmune thyroid disease often occur together
Getting the thyroid sorted will help improve the PCOS
Once you post you most recent results and ranges members can advise
Very common for vitamins to be very low, especially if you are under medicated
Taking 100mcg levo diagnosed 2011.
Jess40,
You are very undermedicated to have TSH 6.5, low FT4 and fT3 below range. Ask your GP to increase dose.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.3 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP.
Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
