Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism three weeks ago, my doc said I'm only slightly hyper but today I was told I was very hyper...I'm not sure what these lab reports mean so can anyone here shed any light on them for me? Please and thanks

There is no way they can tell how 'hyper' you are from these results, because they haven't tested your FT3. Yes, your TSH is suppressed, and yes, your FT4 is over-range. But, unless your FT3 is also well over-range, you are not hyper. And, they should be testing your antibodies, too. Antibodies for Grave's and antibodies for Hashi's, to get a complete picture. Otherwise, they will just be guessing, and this will affect your long-term treatment.
Greygoose,
TSH is suppressed and FT4 quite a bit over range which means Nadz77 is hyperthyroid. FT3 doesn't have to be over range to diagnose hyperthyroidism. I do think FT3 and Graves antibodies checked too for a full picture.
Well... I disagree, but never mind.
Greygoose,
FT3 is a lot more stable than FT4. That's why FT3 can remain in range when FT4 plummets or rises too high. Of course, if FT4 continues rising there will be too much conversion and FT3 will start rising too.
I had FT4 >35 (12-22) but FT3 remained within range so was in a 'hyperthyroid state'. It was due to over replacement but principle is the same.
I agree with greygoose your doc needs to do the correct and full tests to reach a correct diagnosis to implement the right treatment plan or course of action. At the moment your doctor and you have an incomplete picture and you cannot make decisions on the basis of these results alone.
Nadz77,
TSH is suppressed and FT4 over range so you are hyperthyroid. FT4 27 isn't unduly high, I have seen FT4 >60, but it needs treating to prevent it rising.
I think we really need to know the FT3 reading either way to get the fuller picture.
