So the other half got a cold and past it to the daughter who kindly donated it to me!
We just carried on she said. It’s only a cold.
Not when you have Graves! It’s never just cold. Yes all the normal things are there like the headache the runny nose the sore throat etc.
Then you get the extra bit. The spinning whistling ears. Vertigo, which make you feel sick. Only being able to sleep on one side because of you sleep on the other the world whizzes round. The swollen neck glands so big looks like you have mumps. The aching body like flu but it’s just the cold!
If you have sympathetic relatives count your blessing.
A simple cold in my house causes hell on Earth!!!!!
And to those without autoimmune diseases, keep your colds to yourself!!!
Rant over!!!

How do you suppose someone can keep a cold to themselves? If they don't live with you you can order them to stay away but they may be infectious before they even know they have a cold.
It's not much fun when you have Hashi's, either! My daughter and I both have colds, at the moment, at the same time. And, the only people we have in common are the granddaughters, so we probably caught it from them. Yet neither of them have shown any sign of having a cold, so are probably just carriers. One kiss good night, and you're done for!
You could be like my brother, and wear surgical gloves when you go shopping, first having wiped down the trolley with antibacterial wipes, and banning people from your house who have the slightest little sniffle, but he still catches quite a number of colds. Seems there's really no avoiding them. Ho hum...
I know how you feel and i even tell family (obviously not my hubby and daughter)to keep away if they have a cold and especially the dreaded sickness bugs- i have 2 immune diseases aswell. Lol i also wipe down trolley handles and i hate public doors and will avoid touching them at all costs.x😊
Living in Greece - as in other places - welcome kisses on both cheeks are routine and three kisses with the Dutch Normally a very pleasant experience - but now winter is upon us I decline politely
20 years ago when I lived along the road from one of my relatives, we both caught colds easily. She used to ring me to say don't come along, we've all got colds and we don't want to give it to you. I call that considerate!
I have to say that since I've been on T3 and also retired, I catch colds far less easily than when I commuted on cattle-truck trains. I'm probably tempting fate now!
