If you are not taking a PPI now then you could try organic apple cider vinegar.

Start with a teaspoon in a glass of water before your main meal. If it doesn't upset your stomach then do this for a week and see how you feel. If it's helping you could slowly increase to a desertspoon and see how you get on.

You might need a teaspoon in a glass of water before all meals for a while but start with just your main meal. Stop if it upsets your stomach more.

Let us know if it helps.

You may need to try going gluten free to get complete relief.

Thank you for your help , yes have been gluten free for a few week . I am still taking 150 mg rananidene which is H 2 blocker .

You better check then because it might be harmful to take apple cider vinegar when on H2 blocker as I don't know what that is. Check with whoever prescribed it.

Why are you taking an H2 blocker? If you had low stomach acid to begin with - which most hypos do - an H2 blocker will just make things worse!

The symptoms for low acid and high acid are much the same, so as doctors tend to be totally unaware that it's possible to have low acid, they always assume you have high acid when you present with the symptoms.

I had an endoscopy and they said I had small ulcer , mild gastritis and mild duodenitis. They put me on 80 mg of OMEPRAZOLE and 150mg of ranadetine , i took it for 10 days but was making me so ill , saw another doctor and he told me to stop and just take ranadetine , but I’ve got terrible indegestion like spasm s . I don’t know what to do to get rid !

I'm afraid I don't know anything about ulcers. But, I'm pretty sure you only get them if you have low stomach acid. If your stomach acid is high, the bacteria that causes ulcers can't survive. Haven't they put you on antibiotics?

The ulcer is a duodenal one and no mention of antibiotics. Only saying that PPI s are the only treatment

OK, well, I don't know anything about that. Sorry.

I take 4 tablespoons of Braggs ACV in 12oz of water (with squeeze of Lemmon if available). Once or twice a day before meals.

I feel good about it.

Have been recommended to try making my own raw grass milk kefir. It’s said to be very helpful. I’m going to order the grains in the next couple days.

If you don’t have good milk available or don’t like milk/dairy etc. you can make it with other things instead.

I also bought some probiotic kimchi cabbage a couple days ago. They have it in mild or spicy flavors. Going to try some tonight.

Excited! 😊

Hi I had the same problem as you with low stomach acid and being given Omeprezole. I take Betaine with Pepsin tablets (digestive enzymes) with meals and it has solved the problem.

this is a link to some NHS info on duodenal ulcer

most common cause is h pylori infection - which is treated using a mix of anti-biotics to clear the infection and acid suppressants to allow the wound to heal. However, the acid suppressants are for a relatively short period - 4-8 weeks.

Please, at the very least, consult a pharmacist before trying any remedies - and speak to your GP if you haven't had a course of anti-biotics.

H pylorii infection will also affect your ability to absorb B12 - depending on how long you have had problems this could be affecting you - though in general B12 deficiency develops quite slowly
