I sent my blood test results to my GP along with the Dr Toft article from Pulse. I explained that I was still experiencing symptoms and would like to trial an extra 25mcg of levo and if he wasn't comfortable with doing that I would like a referral to an endo and he's referring me on. I didn't have to go to the surgery.
What should I expect or will that vary?
Also...can anyone recommend a brand of Vit D as he has told me to buy that over the counter?
Thank you for your help. I don't understand why I didn't come on this forum in December when I was first getting tests .

From your previous post your Vit D level is 37.8 and you should aim for the Vit D Council's recommended level of 100-150nmol/L. As you don't have Hashi's, my suggestion would be for a D3 softgel and I found this one excellent and very good value bodykind.com/product/2463-b...
I would take 5000iu daily for 3 months then retest. When you've reached the recommende level then you'll need a maintenance dose which may be 2000iu daily, it's trial and error so it's recommended to retest once or twice a year to keep within the recommended range. You can do this with a private fingerprick blood spot test with City Assays vitamindtest.org.uk/
There are important cofactors needed when taking D3
D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.
D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.
Magnesium helps D3 to work and comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds
You ferritin level at 54.7 is too low. For thyroid hormone to work (that's our own as well as replacement hormone) ferritin needs to be at least 70, preferably half way through range. You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/in...

As for your referral to an endo, as most of them are diabetes specialist then if you have a choice you could email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org for the list of thyroid friendly endos, any that you can get to you can ask for feedback from members who will have to reply by private message.
Honestly, I don't know very much, there are members here who know much, much more than me.
I had severe Vit D deficiency with a level of 15 and my ferritin was also very low, so I have experience of addressing those myself. Some things I've read so many times that the information does stick in my mind.
My brain is quite selective in what it retains, it sometimes puzzles me how I can remember the information I pass on here yet I can struggle to remember something from 30 minutes ago, or lose my train of thought during a conversation
Don't give your GP the list. See who is in your area, ask on the forum for feedback on them, then ask your GP to refer you to whoever comes recommended by members as thyroid friendly and helpful.
