You can't just stop, you need some bloods done to see if you are either under or over medicated. If Levo isn't working for you there are alternatives but if you are diagnosed hypothyroid you must take something or you will soon be feeling dreadful.

Post your latest thyroid test results. TSH, FT4, FT3. Sounds like you need thyroid antibodies tested too - Thyroid Peroxidase and Thyroglobulin. Also useful:

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Levothyroxine is not a medication it a replacement hormone, because your body can't make it.

It like needing to eating every day......it's essential

Highly likely you were not on high enough dose and/or had very low vitamin levels and likely had high thyroid antibodies. This is Hashimoto's and is difficult complex disease. But with correct treatment and help on here you can get much much better

So if not had bloods tested since stopping Levothyroxine ask GP to test

You need to know results for TSH, FT4 and FT3.

Do you also have high thyroid antibodies? You need to know. Did GP or Endo ever test these? If not ask that they are tested.

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. Always get actual results and ranges. Post results when you have them, members can advise

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results

You were lucky you were not more seriously unwell. Many would be dangerously ill after such a long time without thyroid medication.

Not what you're looking for?
