Hi I am posting on behalf of my friend, she thinks she has Hashimotos due to raised antibodies. She doesn't know where she is going in terms of her health and feels no better despite taking levothyroxine and supplements (she leaves several hours between levothyroxine and supplements) and has her endo appointment next week. What does she need to ask her endo at the appointment to get the most out of it? She takes 50mcg levothyroxine reduced from 150mcg levothyroxine due to suppressed TSH and she was diagnosed 2014. Thanks
NOV-2017
TSH 6.2 (0.2 - 4.2)
Free T4 12.7 (12 - 22)
Free T3 3.1 (3.1 - 6.8)
TPO antibody 404.5 (<34)
TG antibody 259.3 (<115)

Ask your friend if she will join and post all her details herself. There's not enough information here.
Yes, she has Hashi's, but most doctors/endos attach no importance to antibodies or autoimmune thyroiditis (their term for Hashi's). And she is undermedicated.
What we really need are details of past results with dose taken at the time, reasons why any changes were made, was she on Levo only, has she ever had T3 added and taken away and why.
You've mentioned that she takes supplements. She needs to post her original vitamin and mineral results, say what she is supplementing/dose, post any new results after starting supplements.
Lots more questions may follow if enough information isn't given. No offence to you, but much better if she posts herself as she is in the best position to answer questions
I see you had a good response from Marz. She asked for more of the story and you haven't given it? I understand it is not your own story, but no-one will be able to give any better advice either without the rest of the story. This is not an easy topic with easy answers. There are some real expert patients in this forum who will do their best to help, but it is a working together process which requires a fair amount of info. But when time is taken to work it all out, the results are worth it. Unfortunately there is no quick fix.
So if you really want help for your friend, then why not work with us and provide the info requested?
For starters, what I have mentioned in my reply above, but as she has all the answers why use a 'go-between'. She can join and start her own thread with as much information about her thyroid journey as possible.
If she's going to an Endocrinologist next week she should just say her dose was reduced by 2/3rds by the GP according to her TSH and by showing Endo her results, let's hope he gives her the right information for her to recover her health. It can be done but not by following the NHS Guidelines, unfortunately. She must be suffering badly due to the GPs awful advice but unfortunately he isn't the only doctor who messes about with dose.
