These are my blood tests from this week. Fasted, 8.30am

TSH 0.02. 0.27-4.2

T4. 14.4. 12-22

T3. 4.2. 3.1-6.8

Dose. T4. 75mcg.

T3. 12.5 mcg

I have recently been diagnosed with systemic lupus , it’s so confusing with what aches etc belong to which problem.

I have been sleeping much better , not sure if that’s the T3 . ? my body aches so much I could cry.

It’s looks to me like I need to increase hormones , would be glad if you can help me with dosing .

What I don’t understand is when adding T3 will the T4 look lower on blood results ?

Even if you have made no change in amount taken, or should the results increase equally. Not sure if I’m making sense ,! ? 🤔🙄

Please help x

When taking T3, FT4 results will be low, even if you are taking the same dose as before the T3. It doesn't matter. :)

I have known about that for a while and my t4 had always been reduced by some T3. I just wonder if anyone knows the reason why this happens. It would make sense to me if t4 increased due to it not being used up so much when we take t3.

Well, that's not what you asked. :)

What happens that the body only hangs on to what it needs. And, when you're taking T3, it needs less. So, the excess is excreted.

I was hoping to get advice as to improve blood results . Should I increase T3 or T4 ?

They are on the low side, aren’t they ?

Please comment

Possibly both, but perhaps T3 to start with.

Do you currently take as split dose of 1/4 tablet waking and 1/4 pm?

You could increase 3 x 1/4 tablet

I take 3 doses (on endo recommendation)

Approx 6am, noon and 6pm and take Levo at bedtime.

Have you tested vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Low vitamin D can make you ache

sorry Ghart. There looks to be room for a small increase of T3 to see if it helps.

Not what you're looking for?
