Hi, My eyes have been puffy for ages, but recently they are watering more than usual, eyesight worse in right eye. I know I have start of cataracts , and have a letter from an NHS privately run clinic where I went last year to optician, to say he was willing to see me again if they were worse. But now I have a small round lump under my tongue. I remember someone on HU mentioned Sjögren syndrome to me some time ago. I have hypo thyroidism and osteo arthritis. Just made an appointment for November 8th. Hoping for any advice , Joan

Small lump under tongue
Appy45,
It's possibly a blocked saliva gland but you should see your GP or dentist to check.
Thanks Clutter, I have had other problems in my mouth recently. About 2 months ago had new dentures, then had sore lip (. Stomatitis ) which spread to my tongue, then to my gums. My dentist took a photo of my gums, as she said she'd never seen anything like it before. Cleared up in about 10 days. Dentures fine. But I know this lump was not there then.
Just to agree with Clutter that you might want to see your dentist to assess whether you have a salivary stone. Sometimes a GP is good at assessing these but a dentist is a good position to check suspicious lumps, salivary gland blockages etc. (I've a swollen salivary gland/lymph node under one side of my jaw since an episode of sinusitis in early June - my dentist ruled out a salivary stone for me.)
Thanks ITYFIALMCTT . ( ? )
Seeing Dr on the 8th. Could have got in earlier, but wanted to see my own Dr. Then I can also mention to her about my eyes and my hoarse voice. She does let me go over the 10 minute appointment time, lol.
The hoarse voice can be a sign of being under medicated
Thanks Silverfox. I take 2 Thiroid grains a day. Perhaps I should up it a bit.
