I am taking NDT (2 grains split into 2 doses) and T3 (1 grain split over 2 doses) for my Hashis, HC (25mcg split over four doses) for my Adrenals (Low, Very Low, Low, Very Low) Vit B12 (12,000) AND Vit D(10,000) (plus cofactors of K(600mcg), selenium(200mcg) and magnesium(400mcg)). I have put on nearly five stone in weight in the last three years and am still gaining. I am also currently trying to follow the paleo diet and going gluten and dairy free.
I have been doing all this for the past three/four months, my question is when can i expect my metabolism to start working properly again?? Would it be when i am optimal on everything or can i expect it to start working before this please? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you xx

It should improve slowly as your levels improve. But to be more precise, you would have to post some results. How long have you been on 2 grains? When did you have your last blood test?
Your cortisol, for example. When you say it's very low, have you been tested for Addison's? Is it really just adrenal fatigue or worse than that? If it's 'just' adrenal fatigue, then you should not be taking your HC spread over the day, like that, or you will shut your adrenals down.
I had my last thyroid check done in August and i have reduced my thyroid medication down whilst treating my adrenals (As per the STTM protocol) I haven't tested for Addisons. I am going to retest my thyroid in the new year to see how everything is. I have done the Daily Average Temperatures to make sure my dose is stable and it is.
For a full picture you need a saliva test (Genova ) to test cortisol and dhea. Most people forget dhea. There are tests going on to see if pregnenelone which is used for low dhea can be used instead of HC.( see DrMyhill.co.uk and search adrenals- there is a fabulous article- how to crack adrenal issues)
Hi Howard, if you are able to find the article you mention on adrenals could you post a link please. I've just searched 'adrenal issues' on the website and several articles have come up about; Sleep Apnoea, CSF, Being Overweight, etc.
If you go into the web page and key adrenal in the search bar then scroll down to the bottom and click on common hormonal problems- adrenal . Yes she wrote it with a slant on cfs but it applies to everyone.
There are two trials mentioned one hydrocortisone and the other above it on pregnenelone under prescribing adrenal hormones.
