3 weeks in to my increase in levothyroxine from 75 to 100 and I am not feeling well. Complete exhaustion and this morning sweats and shakes when I came back from walking the dogs. Is it because my body is getting used to the new dose? Expecting to feel better but feeling awful. Thanks for any help. Taking supplements as recommended on here after my bloods last August.

Dose increase
What were your latest thyroid results?
It's not uncommon to feel worse before you feel better. You could try splitting your dose and see if that helps. Otherwise hang in there and symptoms should resolve.
Are you always getting the same brand levo?
Do you know if you had positive thyroid antibodies? Many with autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's benefit from a gluten free diet. A smaller percentage of those also need to remove dairy from their diet to feel well. These are intolerances and will not show up on any blood test.
Hi , thanks for your reply. Not had private bloods since last August when I had been kept on a dose of 50 for years. Always get the same brand now it has increased from 75 to 100.Intend to redo private test after I have been on this dose for 8 weeks. Thanks for the support I shall hang on in there and hope things improve.
The longer you are under replaced the harder it can be to increase so be kind to yourself for the next few weeks and take it a bit easy. It will pass.
Can you tell us how you managed to get the dose increase in the end please? Always useful to know tactics.
I spoke to a different doctor who immediately agreed without me having to argue my case. I thought at the time that she had read my results incorrectly believing I needed more to bring my TSH up. Grabbed the increase with both hands and will keep my notes for the next occasion which will probably be my next blood test! 😁
Yes it is common to feel worse as things rebalance. Weeks 2 and 3 of any increase are particularly bad for me. Sometimes I've given up and gone back to the old dose because of this...then regretted that as I needed the increase.
Week 2 of any change in dose, up or down, Levo or T3, really hammers me. Stick with it if you can.
What were your results from most recent March test
Have you retested vitamin levels
Hi still low TSH of 0.09 (0.35-4.94) and T4 was 14 (9-19).Going to get private tests done again after this increase inc vitamins. So probably after 8 to10 weeks of increased dose?
Thanks for your reply.
So make sure you test early Monday or Tuesday morning, ideally just before 9am. Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test and only drink water between waking and test
If taking any supplements that contain biotin (eg vitamin B complex) remember to stop taking this 5-7 days before test as biotin can falsely affect test results
Come back with new post once you get results
