Hi, I see that l-carnitine has come up a few times on here, but I'd just like to check in again . . . I have Hashimoto's and take 1 grain Naturethroid daily. I also have atrial fibrillation and am taking supplements to support the heart e.g. CoQ10, magnesium, taurine. Carnitine is also recommended for this so I've just got some acetyl-l-carnitine. But now I've read contrasting things - that carnitine can inhibit the absorption of thyroid hormones and alternatively that some people have not found that effect. Has anyone on here with Hashimoto's tried acetyl-l-carnitine and found that it either did or didn't affect their thyroid function? Thanks for any feedback.
