I had already posted my issues
Do you take it with a large glass of water?
Your FT4 is not quite mid-range, but it depends on you're FT3 whether you're still hypo.
Yes I do at night. I go see my doctor in December cause I missed my appointment then a ultrasound.
Well, an ultrasound will tell you more. Your throat is probably a little swollen.
Hi Diamond60..I have this trouble particularly when I take Senna tablets at night..sometimes they stick and actually end up on the floor..I am now having a thyroid scan soon..I thought it was acid reflux tho...so hopefully a scan will help diagnosis..often I put the tablet on a little honey on a teaspoon and then take that with the water..and that helps sometimes. My throat always feels sort of full and needs clearing without it feeling any different

Most makes of levothyroxine (at least in the UK), say that the tablets can be crushed, dispersed in water and swallowed like that. There is no need to suffer trying to get a solid tablet down your neck.
Have a look at the Patient Information Leaflets or whatever it is you call them.
Yes, good idea. It is very important that the pill not hang around in the throat too long because the membranes in the throat will begin to absorb the medication and that is not good. It is possible to cause damage to the throat lining, even an ulcer. Medications (along with food etc) should only be absorbed in the stomach, that's it's main job.
LAH Regarding absorption only in the stomach, as I understand it, that's not the case: "The small intestine has the largest surface area for drug absorption in the GI tract, and its membranes are more permeable than those in the stomach. For these reasons, most drugs are absorbed primarily in the small intestine, and acids, despite their ability as un-ionized drugs to readily cross membranes, are absorbed faster in the intestine than in the stomach."

Ps And of course, drugs taken sublingually/bucally will be absorbed directly to the blood stream, bypassing the GI tract and first pass in the liver, completely.
OK, whatever you want to believe - just get it past the throat ASAP. Same goes for the mouth (sublingually).
I take four small pills. I put them in a piece of bread and swallow but my pain pill is big and that one I can't break in half so that one I can still feel in my throat no matter what I do it's there. Been doing this for years now I try but nothing brings it down.
Try drinking water first, & break up your pills as small as possible then swallow with more water.
Thanks everyone that replied I will try crushing it. Even before I had the RAI done my throat was always like this.
