Just need some wisdom on this. My daughter is 42 years and I myself have hypothyroid problem and my mother did and my sister. Now my daughter is suffering from acute tiredness, constipation for ages and brain fog and weight problems. She had a test last year and they only did TSH. Now this year she rang up the doctor and said about thyroid and they said they were quite happy with her TSH. Oh just remembered she is always cold. Anyway when she suggested a t4 and antibody test they said they were quite happy with the result last year of TSH. What does anyone think.

Hi Gilly, doctors usually only test TSH. Just because they were 'quite happy' with the result doesn't mean your daughter is feeling well. In fact she sounds very ill. Ask her to get the actual number of all the blood results with the figures in brackets and post this on this forum. (e.g. TSH 4.3 (.4 - 5))She is entitled to a copy of all her results. She will get some advice on how to proceed from there.

It's very much worth doing
