Thyroid nodules

Hi everyone im new to this site .

Had a scan on my thyriod and but told i have two nodules 4mm on left and 7mm on right. Could this be cancer ? I have just got over kidney cancer . Its was low grade .

I have recently been diagnosed with the same thing but not cancerous although they are checking them regularly. Nodules on the thyroid are usually an auto immune issue or damage to the thyroid (I think cancer treatment can damage it).

Hi thank u for your reply . So worried . Only had kidney removed no other treatment due to it be contained. Not sure whether biopsy can be done due to size x

Mine wasn't biopsied as they could tell via an ultrasound scan it was fine. They said something about it being non calcified (apparently calcification shows it is cancerous). Did they mention that at all? I only overheard it as they were training a student scanner at the time and were talking amongst themselves. X

Yes said no calcification

But been sent to see consultant next week .

Thats positive. You'll probably see the consultant so that they can book you in again in 6 months and monitor it. Hope all goes well.
