Where yo order T3 online

I've been taking Naturethroid for over 3 years but recently hypo symptoms have returned. I believe I have high rt3 and understand removing T4 will help treat this. I'm looking to order T3 online. I would appreciate any advice where to order it. Please pm me a link to ordering T3. TIA

Why do you think you have high rT3? And why do you think your high rT3 - if, indeed, you have it - is responsible for your hypo symptoms? You could just be under-medicated. Do you have copies of your labs?

My most recent results from 14 Sept were TSH <0.02 (0.35-5), FT4 20.5 (11-23) and FT3 12.6 (3.9-6.8). My FT3 was so high because my GP sent me a blood form and stupidly I went straight for my test a few hours after taking the NDT. I also increased my NDT from 3 to 4 grains after my previous test in August and didn't feel any better, infact I steadily feel worse. My thyroid results have all been optimal since Dec 2014 and I only started having symptoms earlier this year. The only reason I can find is RT3 and/or pooling. Could it be anything else?

It could be all sorts of things.

For a start, increasing from 3 to 4 grains of NDT in one go was not a good thing to do. Increases should be by 1/4 grain every two weeks - especially once you get as high as 4 grains. You could be over-medicated, now.

You could have low nutrients. Have you had your vit d, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested?

We don't really talk about 'pooling' here. Possibly because no-one is really sure what it means. Do you mean hormone resistance? If you had that, I think you would have noticed it before now.

RT3 doesn't cause symptoms. It is totally inactive. As far as we know, it doesn't cause any problems at all.

Your results aren't optimal if you don't feel well. If your still have symptoms then you aren't optimal, no matter what the lab test says.

Yes I am aware of the recommended NDT increase which I used until I got to 3 grains. I had been on the 3 grains for the best part of 3 years and felt desperate when I increased. All my symptoms are hypo except for the anxiety which I believe is a hyper symptom.

All my nutrient results are optimal and I have addressed adrenals and sex hormone deficiencies.

I found several pages that described high RT3 symptoms and that taking T3 only is the best treatment to reverse it.

NDT has a favorable ratio of t4/t3 so as not to make excess rt3. But if you up the dose to where you have excess t4, it will convert to rt3 in a higher proportion. (when I say excess t4 I mean more than your body thinks it needs) So you could have gone from undermedicated to overmedicated? I would definitely get an rt3 and a free t3 test drawn at the same time and look at the ratio.

Oh, and if you have an abundance of rt3 then the free t3 number evidently includes rt3 (from what I have read), so your ft3 looks better than it is. Not to mention that it can't get into your cells because rt3 is already taking up space, so the serum level is higher than it would be.

Thanks scottbnk for the info. It's all a minefield. I reduced my NDT to 1 grain a week ago and already feel so much better. So many of my hypo symptoms had returned and stupidly I increased the NDT instead of thinking about it clearly (brain fog a symptom again) and researching more. I also purchased T3 which I will be taking instead of the NDT to get me back on track.

What I am doing is NDT and adding a little t3. I honestly believe that the body needs some t4. Tissues seem to have preferences for different concentrations of t3. I say let them convert at their leisure, but don't supply enough t4 to make a lot of rt3.

It is like one of those skinny balloons that they tie into shapes. Squeeze one end and the other end gets bigger. lol

I still have the left side of my thyroid gland and believe it produces T4. Last year my Endo actually recommended I go off the thyroid meds completely and see how I feel. I didn't have the courage to do that considering I felt so well on NDT at the time.

I was just looking through your other posts and profile...as estrogen drops, binding proteins drop so free levels go up. So, need for thyroid hormones goes down. (if supplementing with progesterone this could effectively reduce estrogen by opposing it, I think)

I know we always like to think we will feel great if our ft3 is at the top of the range. T4 is affected more by the binding protein thing, so ft4 could certainly be turning into a higher ratio of rt3 than previously.

If it were me, I would consider actually reducing the NDT from where you were when you had labs. And if you can have the other half of your thyroid gland removed you life will be simpler, lol. When trying to decide whether to have half or all of mine removed, my surgeon reminded me that I would have to be on thyroid hormone regardless, and it was much easier to regulate if it was all removed. I think he was correct.

I was prescribed t3 in the USA, so I have not had to resort to buying it online yet.

Hi

I think greygoose is right- there could be many things here going on but you can't guess that you have rt3.

I'd suggest you consider paying for a full blood count including vitamins etc through blue horizon- then you can post them on here and you will know for sure.( this time you can do the finger prick test at 8am with just water to drink and not take your meds ) The bloods can be posted same day to the lab and the results only take 3 working days.

Please can I ask what tests you had for the adrenals? (cortisol and dhea)

I get all tests done with GP except rt3. My most recent nutrient tests were done in August and all optimal. I had cortisol saliva test done through Genova and all results were well within range except afternoon which is when I would feel really tired and need a nap. Since taking adaptogens I'm no longer tired afternoons.

Hi there im also trying to find a legitant supplier of T3 as my gp cannot prescribe and have already been warned that the endo in south east trusts are unlikely to prescribe either due to cost. My gp said i can obtain online but to be careful as theses allot of counterfeit drugs so i dont really know what to do. I can see you have already helped another member on thyroid uk and would be grateful if you could please advise me too. Kindest regards Rachel

Hi EbonyEvans,

I'm also trying to find a supplier of legitimate T3. If you still have a reliable source of T3 I would be very grateful if you could send me a message. I've been eating T3 for several years but am now having trouble after my endo stopped prescribing it. I'm currently getting a reduced dose and am worried I'll lose my prescription entirely without an endo. I would appreciate any information you can give. Thank you.
