Blood results advice

I would value any input on these blood results as I'm still learning despite 25 years being hypo. I recently increased my dose of Levo from 200mcg to 225mcg as I was towards the top end of "normal" in my TSH (please see my first post for these results) and I have also changed the time of day I take my Levo to prevent taking with food or caffeine.

I feel a noticeable difference and I am much less fatigued with almost no "depression" symptoms but something isn't right and I can't put my finger on it.

I would like to discuss the possibility of trying t3 with my GP, does anyone have any opinions as to any good arguments I might use to fight my case?

I think your levels are rather high for being hyper. I can’t see them adding T3 based on those results.

Ordinary39 Have you had Thyroid Antibodies tested?

Have you had vitamins and minerals tested?

Post any results with reference ranges and say if you're taking any supplements.

Still waiting antibody results.

B12 206 (180-900)

Ferritin 156.6 (10-200)

Foliate 5.1 (3-20)

Iron 12.8 (11-30)

Transferrin 2.51 (1.8-3.6)

Transferrin saturation 23% (16-50)

Ferritin is good

B12 is too low, but probably not low enough for GP to test for Pernicious Anaemia- though if you have symptoms you could push for testing

DO NOT supplement any folate or B vitamins before testing

What about vitamin D?

Have you managed to get antibodies tested?

Going strictly gluten free is likely to help. Especially if you have Hashimoto's. You could certainly try it even if you haven't had antibodies results

What is the test for percinous anaemia? I thought it was just a B12 test...

No you can have low B12 due to age, low stomach acid, illness etc

Or you can have Pernicious Anaemia- another autoimmune disease in its own right.

Read up about it

Most likely it just low due to hypo, but once you start supplementing its difficult to test, so sensible to test first (if possible)

BTW my vit D was 56, no range given just says anything over 50 is good.

Not good enough for thyroid patients. Nearer 100 is better.

Essential to get vitamins good first.
