I would just like to thank everyone for their help. With the information you provided I spoke to my GP and after 13 ish years of being sub clinical a few weeks ago she prescribed 100 mcg of levothyroxine and 4000 IU D3 for my vitamin d deficiency.

She still does mot accept my B12 and folate are too low but at least I am moving forward.

Were you actually started on 100 mcg of T4 - or have you increased to that level ? It may be you will find that just a little too much to begin with. 50 mcg is the usual starting dose with 6/8 reviews when doses are increased ....

Were you advised about the co-factors for VitD ? You need to take it with a fatty meal and also take VitK2 MK7 - and Magnesium. When taking VitD the uptake of calcium from foods is improved and it is important to ensure the calcium leaves the arteries and heads for the bones and teeth :-)

Yes my GP started me on 100 mcg. I felt a bit nauseous for the first few days but have had no issues since. I have a blood test booked for the 6 week point.

No my GP did not mention the co-factors for VitD. How do I know how much VitK2 MK 7 and magnesium to take? Any help is always appreciated.

K2-MK7 generally is 90mcg or 100mcg. Either will do. It's fat soluble so you could look into getting one that has olive oil in it (eg Healthy Origins bigvits.co.uk/product.php?p... ), which means that you can take it with something other than the fatties meal of the day, eg a full fat yogurt, cracker and butter. D3 is also fat soluble so needs to be taken with dietary fat, four hours away from Levo.

Magnesium generally is around 350-400mg. If you a powder form, eg magnesium citrate, you can build up the dose. The tablets, I believe (but not used them myself) are rather large. Take magnesium at least four hours away from thyroid meds, evening is best as it tends to be calming.

Check out the different forms of magnesium to see which would suit naturalnews.com/046401_magn...
