Transisitioning to nature throid from levothyroxine

Hi. After years of feeling unwell I have taken the plunge and purchased nature throid. I really didn't want to self medicate but after seeing an endocrinologist for the last 9 months and having no improvement of symptoms, I am ready to do it. I'm still undermedicated on 100micrograms of Levo but bloods are within range.

I've read about various ways to implement the nature throid but wondered if anyone just went from 100mcg to 1 grain without phasing the levo out?

Also, wondered if I could take it at night like the Levo or if it would be better to take it first thing?

I went from Synthroid to the old Armour in one day... no transition. That was 'way back when' and my doc put me on 30 mgs of Armour for a month or so and raised by 30 mgs and took labs along the way in order to monitor my dosage. Within a week or two, I was feeling fabulous even tho my labs at the time showed my TSH at 16...lol... never had that high a reading before or since.

Current thinking now is to drop the levo and start with 1 grain (60 - 65 mgs) of NDT. Maintain that dose for 2 weeks or so and then raise by 30 mgs. Continue this way until 6 weeks has passed then do labs so you know where you are at. I do encourage you to keep a daily log, tracking your body temp and heart rate. Take those about 3 - 4 pm in the afternoon. Write it all down along with your dosage and how you are feeling. Nothing too elaborate or wordy.

If your body temp and heart rate exceeds normal, time to back down to previous dosage. Also if you get anxious, nervous, heart palps etc. The log is even more important when you are self-medicating.

It might be helpful if you shared your latest lab results and your current levo dosage.

If you've not taken T3 or NDT before it will be better to split the 1 grain tablet into 2 and take 1/2 grain in the morning and the second 1/2 grain at bedtime.
