Hi I was diagnosed hypothyroid in may and was put on thiroxin which I found difficult to tolerate. My last lot of bloods were tsh 5.4 t4 16.5 t3 5.2. I am on 50 mcg but still feeling very tired and unwell. No vitamin deficiencies or antibodies. Ending did have me on 100 mcg but had to drop to 50 as think it was too much too soon. Any helpful ideas please

Your endo shouldn't have doubled your dose, like that. Increases should be no more than 25 mcg every six weeks. Try taking 75 mcg daily. Or, if that's difficult, 50 one day, and 100 the next. :)

Yes, 75 would be good. :)

It can take a while to get used to levo .You were probably started on too high a dose. You do need to be on a higher dose to bring TSH down to about 1 or below. When posting include the ranges shown in brackets. Do not assume that because vitamins are within range they are OK.

If you post your vit results with the ranges folk will advise re supplements.

do you have results for Vit B12, ferritin, folate, iron, Vit D did you have any tests for antibodies. What are the results, normal is not a result, you need to post the figures and ranges which you hyou also need to do for your thyroid tests. Ranges are the figures in brackets.

Your blood test should be done first thing in the morning, and don't take any Levothyroxine for 24 hours before the test. Otherwise the results can show higher levels of thyroid hormone (and lower TSH) than you really have, and you end up being under medicated.
