So who has ever had a huge spike in their tsh

In a month ( 0.33 to 59) because of decreased thyroxine dose and a possible pregnancy (didn't last long)

And then once back on regular dose they went back into range?

Anyone know of reasons if huge spikes???

Also.../ anyone reduce caffeine and dairy and helped their levels???

Mich87,

That's a surprising spike for a reduction of 25mcg. Is TSH back in range now?

I was pregnant literally only for 4 weeks before it didn't work out. Seems every time I get pregnant my tsh sky rockets!!

Now on 50 a day and 100 two times a week. Won't know how that goes until three more weeks

Mich87,

I'm very sorry for your loss. Do you know what TSH was before you got pregnant? TSH needs to be in the low-normal range 0.4-2.5 for women planning conception and dose should be increased between 25-50mcg when pregnancy is confirmed.

Tsh was 0.33

Oh I'm sorry.

High TSH is linked to miscarriage.

Really good website hypothyroidism.com for lots of really good help and info.

Dear Mich87, I am so so sorry for your loss. That is hard to miscarry. I hope you are ok, give yourself time to grieve.

Regarding your doses, I am surprised they were decreased, as normally they are increased to make sure you have enough thyroxine as the baby will take some from you.

My TSH level has always been very low, the highest is 0.54. When I had my children in my 20's my dose was 200 mcg, but increased to 225 mcg to compensate for the pending growth of the baby. I didn't have trouble conceiving the first, she was a beautiful surprise, but did have problems with my second beautiful baby.

Following my problems with the doses in my 30's (Thanks to a certain GP :( ) I did have a lot of problems and did miscarry several times.

If you are considering trying again, I would go and see a gynaecologist first and be checked and get them to check your thyroid bloods etc. If for any reason they are out of kilter, he/she will refer you to a Endocrinologist - that is what happened to me and she was able to adjust my doses, took a little time but I am now back on my original dose, which is what I call my natural dose of 200 mcg plus 20 mcg of the Lithyronine T3.

All the best and take care.

Love

Jayne xx
