Rmichelle,
TPO = thyroid peroxidase antibodies (for Hashimoto's).
Tg = thyroglobulin antibodies (for Hashimoto's).
TSI = Thyroid Stimulating Immunolglobulin (for Graves).
TSHRab = Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor antibodies (for Graves).
Do i need to ask for all of these for hashi and graves please
Rmichelle,
Thyroid peroxidase is the usual antibody test done in primary care to determine Hashimoto's. If TPOab is negative then you would need to check TgAb to conclusively rule out Hashimoto's. I didn't think thyroglobulin antibodies were ordered in primary care but a member's GP was able to order it recently.
I thought TSHRab and TSI had to be ordered in endocrinology but perhaps your GP is able to order them.

Can I just say - your doctor - not impressed!
I am vwry disapointed. Thankyou for link.
Well they lost my biopsy results at the Hosp which can't be repeated. They found them again but I've always worried they mixed them up. So be thankful that at least yours can be repeated! What a fiasco and so sorry for you. All you need when feeling unwell!
