I've sourced T3 and want to add it into my levothyroxine meds. I've been hypo for several years and am still symptomatic with numerous rheumatological issues even tho my TSH is optimal. I'm on 100 mcg/125mcg alternate days. I've added in 25mcg of T3 split into 2 doses daily. Within 2 days my severe hip pain had eased considerably for the first time in over 2yrs. Should I stay on this or lower my levo? Thanks in anticipation

Adding 25mcg T3 to 100 levothyroxine you have doubled your dose. The effect of 25mcgT3 is stated to be around 100mcg of T4 (levo).
You said your TSH is 'optimal'. Is it 1 or below?
I would add 1/4 T3 to your levothyroxine for a week then add another 1/4 all the time taking not of your pulse/temp. Research has suggested than a 3:1 combination is best, T4/T3.
That's a high dose to start with. I would start on 12.5 of T3 . It can cause anxiety and palpitations so be careful. I started on 5mcg and worked up slowly to 25mcg but 25 was too much. I take 12.5 T3 to 75mcg of T4. That's perfect for me but it's taken a few months to get it right.
