Hi , I was taking the mini pill ( Micronor ) and was getting along great with it until I had a little mishap that required me doing a swift visit to the chemist to get the morning after pill . The pharmacist advised me to stop my contraception due to my thyroid issues . I then went to see my gp who also said I shouldn't take it but bizarrely enough didn't give me any other reason and just said not to take it . My endocrinologist has advised that I take it as she said a pregnancy wouldn't be advisable . I don't know what to do and who is right . Any help would be appreciated . It's a progesterone only pill if that helps .

With respect to birth control, there are other methods, before I had my endometriosis removed, my gp seemed more like a pusher! Which is strange as they won't give me T3...
Thank you for your reply and I cannot take the combined pill . I have also tried both types of coil and had a rotten time . Looks like I will be sending husband for the snip .
Combined pill is as bad if not worse... they put me on 3 or 4 different types and I just felt ill and gained weight around my abdomen which is not naturally my problem area but although the weight decreased, I didn't get back to what I was, then I just couldn't lose it at all and slept all the time. A few years later I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem but it all seemed to start when I began taking the pill, could be a coincidence but I don't think so. I will try to find those links for you because I have definitely read about a connection between the two
