Looking to get T3
Welcome to the forum, Topaz6.
Who took you off T3 and did they say why?
Hi endo did because of suppressed tsh
Topaz6,
Were FT4 and FT3 in range?
Yes
TSH <0.02 (0.2 - 4.2)
Free T4 20.6 (12 - 22)
Free T3 5.8 (3.1 - 6.8)
Topaz6,
Endo is an idiot. Suppressed TSH doesn't mean overmedication when FT4 and FT3 are in range, as yours are.
Thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). Suppressing TSH can inhibit Hashi flare ups.
There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Thyroid replacement is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
Am I likely to lose weight if I take T3 again? I have spent a long time trying to gain as much weight as I have and I don't want to lose it again. I am worried about the T3's potency.
Thanks again
