Folate Blood result

I have a folate result of 9.1. The printout that the receptionist gave me did not have the ranges on them and when I asked for them, the receptionist did not know. I just wanted to know if I need to be prescribed folic acid. I am anaemic and am currently on iron (ferrous sulphate 200mg 2 x daily) and on thyroxine 125mcg & T3 25mcg daily. I feel so tired all the time and am trying to work out whats causing my tiredness. I go to bed at 9pm most of the time and oversleep at 12 or 13 hours a night and also nap during the day and it's ruining my quality of life.

Folate ranges vary so you need to contact your practice for the range. Ask the receptionist whether she can speak to a GP or whether you can speak to a duty GP for clarification.

Thanks for that, will speak to GP. I need to speak to them about my constant tiredness too.

I contacted my GP practice today and they said that my folate level should be above 3.8. As my level is 9.1 do I need folic acid?
