Blood sample through the post

Hi, Can anyone help Please? Medichecks sent my blood test kit to me in France but they only included an envelope for 1st class post in the UK for me to return it. A nurse has taken the blood but how do I get it to them ? Can it be taken in hand luggage through airport security and posted in the UK or do I need to find a way to post it from France. As it's Sunday their helpline is closed. Can anyone advise me asap please ?

Thanks

Afraid I cannot see a good ending for you. Their website says:

All of our test kits come with a pre-paid first class envelope to post your sample to the laboratory. It is important that the sample arrives the following day so it is always best to take your sample in the morning to meet the midday post. If you're worried that you can't rely on the post in your region, then we suggest you send it guaranteed next day delivery so that you can be assured that your sample will be arrive in good time.

Which rather implies that you are likely to miss their window almost whatever you do. Assuming someone does take it through, and they are travelling today, and they post it immediately on arrival in the UK, then it almost certainly won't arrive next day - even if posted in Nottingham.

If you live in France, you can just go to the nearest laboratory, explain to them what you want, and that you will pay for it yourself, and they will do what you want. :)

Hi

Thanks for this. Medichecks did send the test to France and charged me £20 postage as well as the cost of the kit so I would have thought they knew it would have to be posted from here. Ho hum.

That does make it sound like you will need to be talking to Medichecks tomorrow morning...

You will need to contact Medichecks tomorrow and complain, unless there is anywhere (written in tiny prints) stating they do not do tests outside of UK. However, they did charge you a lot of extra postage so they were quite aware you live in France. I would insist on a refund and please let us know how Medichecks reacted and whether they will make a refund. Good luck. Dont give up in trying to get your money back. If Medichecks prove difficult then people will become weary and may not use them so readily in future. It would be in their interest to make a refund.

As Greygoose - who lives in France - said just walk into a laboratoire, tell them what you want, pay for it and you'll get the results very soon.

Hi,

Yes they've said via Facebook that I should try to get it through security which my sister will do, and post it at the airport, and if it's confiscated they will send me another one. We will see how it goes.

Thanks to everyone for prompt responses.
