It can be caused by all sorts of things that affect people with hypothyroidism.

The wrong dose of thyroid meds, low nutrients, and low or high cortisol can all cause sweating problems.

Have you ever asked for access to your blood test results and GP records online? If not you should. You need to go to the surgery in person and provide proof of identity. You get given a sheet of paper with some codes on it identifying you and the surgery and the web address you need to go and register with. The receptionist may have to get approval from a doctor before giving you the access codes so you may have to go back the next day.

The alternative is to ask for printed copies of all your blood test results (again take proof of identity), from, say, the last two or three years? Make sure the numbers and the reference ranges are included. The receptionist will probably need permission from the doctor to do this as well. Expect to pay a small fee for paper and ink. If the fee is ridiculous for the number of pages you can also write a Subject Access Request and ask for a copy of everything in your electronic GP record for £10.

Look at posts by DJR1 - they have a special interest in people getting access to their patient records :

When you have your results, post the thyroid and nutrient ones in a new post, including the reference ranges, and ask for feedback.

To check cortisol levels the only worthwhile test is the adrenal stress profile which is a private test done with saliva samples. If this interests you, just ask.

Yes me. I was put through the menopause when i was 43 due to cancer treatment so hot flushes were expected then. I'm now 67 and still having sweats. My doctor completely ignores this as having anything to do with my under active thyroid and being on levothyroxine.

This has interested me as a friend's daughter who is on Levothyroxine has a really bad problem with this. Unfortunately she is resistant to any suggestion of asking for her blood test results. She is also on antidepressants and has coeliac disease.

I would be very interested to hear if you find the reason for this sweating?
