I'm sorry if I'm posted this in the wrong place but I was asked if the Eltroxin the Dr prescribed was by MP.I only collected them today as they had to be ordered in so I haven't started them yet so I can't say how I'm finding them, just that I was, and still feeling incredibly ill on Wockhardt even though I've been off them for a few days. I could never have imagined in my worst nightmare, that Levo could do this to me and I'm praying things will get better on the new pills.

Eltroxin - I hope I'll be Ok on these
Eltroxin was a 'brand' name and other levothyroxines were generic and yours is by Mercury Pharma. Eltroxin was withdrawn for a while and lots of members regretted that so I'm sure you will feel much better when your dose is gradually increased to optimum.
Mercury Pharma (Concordia International) have for several years used exactly the same product licence for both Eltroxin and their levothyroxine. They claim only the packaging differs.
(We have had a few people post that despite the above, they feel there is a difference.)
We do not know why MP only seem to supply Eltroxin-branded product erratically in the UK.
In your previous post you say your GP has advised to only take 1/4 of a tablet a day? That is a minute dose.

Fibromyalgia is often connected to thyroid issues.
If you have high antibodies then this is autoimmune thyroid disease called Hashimoto's.
Slowdragon my antibodies have been high since Feb but because everything else was in range my Dr didn't feel the need to treat me. I was told to start a quarter tablet which I plan to take this evening(first one). I feel a lump last 2 days and painful to touch my thyroid. I have a nhs eoro app on the 3rd Aug. I can't cope with this anymore as if living with fibromyalgia wasn't bad enough. Everyone is so brave when I read your posts. I thought I was too but now realise I'm a coward and very scared and frightened.
This is a fantastic support group. You can post on here any time. Some one will always reply with words of encouragement. I wish this had been around when I was first started on thyroxine 22 years ago
Your TSH is quite high at 32, so you do need to be on some form of thyroid replacement and Levothyroxine is the easiest to manage. If we have been hypo a long time, sometimes we have to introduce & increase in very small steps
You do need good levels of vitamin D, folate, B12 & ferritin.
Hopefully the endo next week will do some more blood tests to check these. If not then you may need to do privately
You say you have high antibodies, so this is Hashimoto's
Very many of us find changing to a gluten free diet helps significantly.
You can read why here
amymyersmd.com/2015/07/the-...
chriskresser.com/the-gluten...
A small percentage of us with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but a far higher percentage have gluten intolerance, there is no easy test for this we just gave to try it.
Endo may do blood test for coeliac, but it's very unreliable.
You probably want to remain eating gluten until appointment next week, but after that changing to a gluten free diet for at least 3-6 months to see if it helps would probably be good idea
Selenium supplements can help with Hashimoto's.
Slow Dragon thank you, I've just posted my antibodies results, please can you tell me what they mean please? Thank you x
