Levothyroxine at night

I have a lot of issues and medication to take daily. Until now I have been taking my medication for everything apart from the levo at 6pm. I take the levo when I go to bed.

The problem I have is that my antidepressant (mertazipine) makes me extremely tired. My question therefore is can I take the mertazipine at bed time with the levo???

No, you really can't. Levo needs to be taken on it's own, two hours away from other medication, one hour before food and drink, or two hours after.

However, it's not just a choice of taking your levo in the morning or in the evening. How about mid afternoon - two hours or so after lunch?

I hadn't actually thought of that!!

So instead of taking my main meds at 6pm I could take the levo say around 4ish and the rest of them at bedtime???

Re your anti-depressant - has your doctor tested your Free T3? or Free T4 come to that.

I have been on antidepressants for more than 10 years but my thyroid only started to play up at the end of last year.

Many people's thyroid hormones gradually decrease and can take some years to be finally diagnosed. Also we can be given 'other' diagnoses before being actually diagnosed as hypo. I was given quite a few diagnoses along with medications - anything except hypo
