Magnesium citrate powder is good for two reasons. Firstly it often helps with constipation, secondly it helps vitamin D which we need.

Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and widely available. Needs to be taken at least 4-6 hours away from thyroxine. Taken in afternoon or evening as is relaxing and can help sleep

But constipation is classic sign of being on too low a dose. What are the actual test results? If you have them post them here, including ranges. If you don't have copy of results ask receptionist, we are entitled under data protection. When you get them come back with new post

GP's often under dose, we tend to need the TSH towards bottom of the range around 1, and FT4 and FT3 nearer the top of the range.

Do you know if you have had thyroid antibodies tested for autoimmune thyroid disease, know as Hashimoto's. Important to know.

Also have you had vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin checked. Common for these to be low and may need supplementing. Post results if you have them

You can email Louise at Thyroid Uk for Pulse article by Prof Toft to show GP by eminent endo saying that TSH should be lower than yours. You could ask for extra 25mcg as a "trial"

louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org.uk

Also important to get those vitamins tested

If GP unhelpful you can do private tests

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test

Linseeds with lots of water. Also chia seeds, nuts, fruit, vegetables, legumes.

Fresh beet greens - sautéed or stir fried lightly with garlic and any other vegetable and or green . ( which is a fresh source of magnesium - Only more tasty !). You can set your clock - 20 minutes after consuming you should find the relief you were looking for !

But yes, on a more serious note, it is a classic sign of under medication . Selenium will help boost the medicine that you're taking many times . Fish oil or krill oil along with the magnesium - All wonderful supplements . Keep drinking the water !

the best thing I have found is stool softner pills and

magnesium calm

which is a raspberry lemon powder that fizzes and you just put in a little water

that I take 2 tsp before bed, helps with sleep. If I don't go the the bathroom b4 noon, I take another 2 tsp....you can control less or more how much you make according to your movements but it always works. A dr told me about it and avail on amazon or online . it is the only thing that works, increasing vitamin c helps also. If you are having problems with thyroid being sluggish, taking thyroid support by pure encapsulations helps.

Not what you're looking for?
