My results are:

On 75mcg Levo

Tsh 0.14 mU/L (0.35 - 5.5mU/L)

Serum free T4 level15.8 pmol/L (10 - 19.8pmol/L)

Tpo 40 (<60)

6 weeks later on 88,7 mcg levo

Tsh 0.13 mU/L (0.35 - 5.5mU/L)

Serum free T4 level15.4 pmol/L (10 - 19.8pmol/L)

Why didn't ft4 increase at all?

Lisan1,

TPO (thyroid peroxidase antibodies) are negative for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's).

FT4 not only didn't rise, it dropped slightly. I can only assume that if you had remained on 75mcg FT4 would have dropped further.

After that test I increased by 25mcg. Waiting for the results now.

Do you have any ideas why ft4 didn't increase?

Lisan1,

Because 88.5mcg wasn't sufficient dose.

TPO antibodies need to be above 60 in first test. Yours were 40. So that test would suggest not Hashimoto's

But antibodies can go up and down and apparently some 10% with Hashimoto's never have raised antibodies. Have you had scan of thyroid?

Looks like you could tolerate a further increase in dose

What are your vitamin D, folate, B12 & ferritin levels? Have they been tested.

Yes, that are all optimal according to advice from here. Did increase by 25mcg after that result, waiting for the new results now. Do you think I can increase once more or is it likely that ft4 will be to of range now?

Don't rush, our bodies need time to adjust, so wait for test results

Wait 6 weeks minimum before retest.

Yes, I just had my blood test so waiting for that result. But am not feeling well so hope the result will not be to of range so I can increase levo once more. That's why I'm asking. It is a long road to feeling better isn't it...
