ls Cynomel (not to be confused with Cytomel) the same strength as Tiromel? l've heard that Cyno and Cyto are both stronger, but l don't know what the equivalency ratios are.

CyNomel and Tiromel conversion?
Highly unlikely that Cynomel is the same strength as Tiromel. I'm just trying Cynomel out, have taken Unipharma up to now, swapped straight over to the same dose and had a very rude awakening! Extremely high BP and very high pulse rate. I stopped the Cynomel for 2 days, things settled down so I went back to Unipharma for a week to stabilise again. I've now started on 12.5mcg Cynomel (normally 31.25 Unipharma), two days in all is well. I will give it a few more days then increase to 18.75mcg and see how that goes.
Reduce your dose to maybe half, then increase slowly until you find what suits.
I have no idea of the equivalent ratio, it might just be trial and error.
ETA, after reading Helvella's reply - I'm taking Grossman Cynomel.
Thank you.
Yeah, l'll try starting from half the dose. i've already been under half of my dose for days because i was rationing my supply of Tiromel and a friend gave me some Cynomel to tide me over until my next batch arrives.
You'd need to avoid confusion even more - there are at least two makes of CyNomel.
Sanofi Cynomel from France
Grossman Cynomel from Mexico.
There are almost as many opinions on relative strengths of liothyronine products as there are people taking it! They should be close to the same as each other. However, even with levothyroxine we see numerous different opinions. I don't believe there are any equivalency ratios that are any better than personal opinions. (Such opinions may well be absolutely honest and valid for that individual.)
Couple days on Cynomel and i woke up feeling like i was hit by a train; extreme fatigue. Tried to take a nap yesterday but couldn't fall asleep (no bedtime insomnia though). Same symptoms as before l found my optimal dose on Tiromel.
Unsure if this is because l'm getting too much T3 from the Cynomel, or not enough.
Luckily my Tiromel should arrive by tomorrow. What do you recommend i do going forward?
l'm planning to just go back to my normal dose of Tiromel. lf i end up pooling, then at least i know for sure and have an established point to work from. ls this the best method?
