Hi have you got any recent thyroid results? Why did your internist take you off levothyroxine? How are your vitamin and mineral levels? People may be more able to advise if you have results and give us more info.
Hi - I am not medical so not sure of your exact issue, but I can tell you that the same dairy, gluten and soy intolerance that I recently realised I have makes my daughter extremely itchy and cause bad eczema. In me it has caused hashis along with several other effects now that I have been off them for several months. She knows this as she has trialled removal and now even minor cross contamination causes very bad itching.
I hope you find a solution to your particular issue.
I found that 3 different brands of levothyroxine have caused severe itching for me and once I stopped taking them it took a good while for the itching to stop. I also take the antihistamine Fexofenadine - at 180 mg daily it is specifically for itchy skin problems. Clemmie
Thank you Clemmie. I checked the price tonight in pharmacy and it costs £ 400 a box of 28 tablets!!
I am in pain from eczema. I first had a doubts that itchiness comes from levath. a year ago, changed brands, all 3 of them and when nothing happened I then explored other possible causes. In the meantime my hands got worst and I am now on a exclusion diet starting with dairy, wheat etc and waiting for blood test. If this diet doesn't help and nothing wrong with blood test than I will have to see endo privately to get a new treatment. I've been on 75 mcg for years and few years ago I went privately at Dr P. who suggested 50 mcg Levoth. and 2 tablets of Nutri Thyroid. When eczema got worst a year ago I then suspected that it might be from Nutri Thyroid and reversed to Levoth 75 mcg. MAy I ask you if Liothyronine is prescribed by private endo? Neri
