Hi All, I have been on thyroxine replacement treatment for over 10 years. currently on a dose of 200mg but over the last 2 years have been experiencing more bouts of fatigue and had to have time off for worsening depression. Now I am told I may also have addisons disease or chronic kidney disease, I am really frightened.

Hi Rootie-Tootie, welcome to the forum.

On what basis are they saying you may have Addison's or CKD? Do you have any blood test results to share with us - both for thyroid and the other things? Let us have a look see what's going on? If you haven't got them, ask for a print-out (with the ranges), and post them on here. If you live in the UK, it's your legal right to have a copy. :)

Welcome , lots of help available here. If you're thyroid isn't being properly treated , other conditions can develop. Many are reversible or improved with decent thyroid treatment. Post any recent lab results you have for your thyroid and some of the more knowledgeable people on here can comment. Best of luck.

Serum TSH level 5.5 miu/L [0.2 - 4.0]

Above high reference limit

Ideal T4 replacement therapy indicated by TSH 0.2-2.0 miu/L

are my results for my thyroid function, just had a call from GP and he said that I cannot have my T4 replacement increased as I am on the maximum dose. With regards to CKD I had kidney issues just after my son was born 14 years ago so I know this could be a possibility.

Are there any other medications I should be considering if I can't have thyroxine increased?
