My GP has, today, advised that he will help me manage T3 if i want to self medicate. He will happily monitor my bloods.
Can someone point me in the right direction. Where can i get this medicine, how much should i take ?
I have posted my bloods previously and i am feeling loads better taking different supplements but i am still unable to lose weight, despite healthy gluten free eating and some exercise. Think T3 is my next trial

You might not necessarily lose weight taking T3. I found that actually I lost weight when I was taking more thyroxine instead of T3 (not my choice) but I couldn't tolerate too much thyroxine due to palpitations and sweating. I am back on the T3 now.Doctors are not banned from prescribing T3,they just need to justify that you need it,You should not have to buy it yourself. If you are feeling well otherwise, and your blood results are o.k., then I wouldn't just try T3 for weight loss.I had to trial thyroxine only for a few months, and stopping and starting the T3 and changing doses completely mucked my hormonal system up,and I am now only starting to feel better 6 months later.
I've been taking Thyroxine for nearly 3 years, and think i my have a problem converting to T3. Think it will be worth a try in my case. I have booked to see a functional medicine doctor, hopefully he will get to the bottom of my problems. Will hopefully try either T3 or NDT.
