Understanding my results????

ClaireHaxellwhite profile image

Can anyone help?

Ive been feeling really terrible, exhausted, up and down moods, loss of libido...

Ive had an underachieve thyroid for 8 years which went crazy during pregnancy 4 years ago. Gradually came back down with the Levothyroxine and now been told to drop another 25mg. Had my bloods tested but I don't really understand. Would T3 help

SERUM TSH LEVEL 0.03mIU/L

SERUM FREE T4 LEVEL 19.1pmol/L

SERUM FSH LEVEL. 7.5 iu/L

SERUM LH LEVEL 6.6iu/L

To be honest it just confuses me. I take 150mg Levothyroxine.

Can anyone help with something else I might be able to take to help...T3?

Thanks

ClaireHaxellwhite You won't know if T3 will help unless you have FT3 tested at the same time as FT4 to see how well (or not) you are converting.

Have you ever had vitamins and minerals tested, if so please post the results with reference ranges -

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Have you had antibodies tested - Thyroid Peroxidase and Thyroglobulin - and were they positive?

Do you take any other medication or supplements?

Do you take Levo on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after food, with water only?

I have a borderline underactive thyroid, I'm on 100 levothyroxine and I take magnesium in the evening, and vit d. I feel so much better. I have also read that coffee interferes with the levothyroxine so I have stopped having any. All I know is that this has left me feeling so much better. Nothing to loose I hope this helps.

Thankyou! its horrible to feel so tired out all of time isn't it. Ill try dropping the coffee. I only have 1 or 2 cups a day maximum but I guess the caffeine can interfere like lots of things. I think I need to get my T3 tested by the sounds of things also. Ive had an Underachieve thyroid for years and with no problems but in the past 6 months its all gone down hill! xxx

Try magnesium it does say it helps with fatigue and you have nothing to loose. Magnesium also helps with aching legs which is my worst symptom.
