SYMPTOMS from Synthroid

I stopped Synthroid 2 days ago after taking for a week. I am still having stomach gas and bloating.

Why did you start taking Synthroid? What dose were you prescribed? Were your test results borderline?

Did you stop because of the gas and bloating? It's possible the gas and bloating is totally coincidental. That, or you are sensitive to one of the excipient ingredients in Synthroid.

Hi I started last Monday . My tsh was 4.8. She started me on 50mcg. The gas and bloating started day 2. A couple of hours after I took the pill and continued. I took my last pill Friday.

It's possible you have discomfort from the fillers in Synthroid and the dye . You might want to change to another T4 with no color . And see if that will help you with your discomforts .

Not from the dye if it was a 50 microgram tablet - they are white!

I think all USA makes of levothyroxine tablet contain dyes (Mylan, Synthroid, Lannett/Unithroid, Levoxyl) - except in their 50 microgram dosage.

So the way to avoid dye is to stick with 50 microgram tablets only. Or switch to Tirosint?

It's a great Idea to stay on the 50 dose as you said without color . All the strengths should come without color . The next thing to check is fillers . They all come with different fillers in them . You need to test which one is best for you . Without or the least side effects .

Thanks the doctor just called me in generic of Synthroid I'm hoping I don't have the same problem

Would that be a prescription? I want to try Armour or one of the naural thyroid meds.
