I don't know enough about low platelets to advise. Has your GP recommended you see a haematologist?

Why not wait and see. Platelets may resolve without intervention and it will take some months for iron tablets to improve iron levels. Take 1,000mg vitamin C with each iron tablet to aid absorption and minimise constiption. Take iron 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.
