Some iron pills are meant to be taken with a meal, others are not. Can you check the packaging? This will help to determine, I'm assuming it's with a meal, so you'll have to plan your 3 daily meals around this too.

Yea it's best taken with a meal. You should definitely space it away from your levo by 4 hours, preferably take your levo 4 hours before the iron. Unfortunately it's also recommended to take the D3 and K2 with a meal...

By any chance does your vit D3 come in an oil capsule? Or is it a tablet? (Oil capsules absorb better and don't necessarily need to be taken with a meal).

I also have issues spacing my irons supplement 4 hours from everything else, sometimes this is the case. The problem is that iron lowers the absorption of other supplements and medications, but it doesn't fully stop it. So you may need to increase your dosage of other supplements to make up for it.

But if you're only on this course of iron for a short while then it might not have much of an overall effect on your D3 and magnesium levels.

Four hours away from thyroid meds and two hours away from any other medication and supplements. They're a pain to fit in with everything else.

Take each tablet with 1000mg Vit C to aid absorption and help prevent constipation.

I've just found some vitamin c capsules in my cupboard I think they are 600mg so would they be ok to take and also 3 times a day?

Yes, that should be fine. If they're 500mg then take two as the recommendation is for 1000mg.

Vit C is one of those supplements that is very useful for us Hypos, it supports adrenals and it's recommended to take 2000mg a day in divided doses, more if you want to bowel tolerance. You can't really overdose on Vit C (your bowel will let you know if you're taking to much :) )

I read an article which said that iron should not be taken at the same time as levothyroxin as it blocks its efficiency
