Raised Ferritin levels ?

Hi Have Hashimotos...Has anyone had raised ferritin levels? Had my results which I sent in to this panel and am now waiting for GP appointment in May. My levels are 221.7 and I am going to ask for iron levels to be checked. I have read lots about low ferritin levels but not seen much about raised levels. Thanks

If you are not supplement iron the likeliest reason for raised ferritin is inflammation somewhere in the body. Having a cold or virus at the time of testing can elevate ferritin. My GP wasn't concerned about my ferritin being x 2 over range a couple of years ago because my full blood count was within range. I've not had it tested subsequently so I don't know whether it remains high or not.
