There is a larger petition you may want to sign to. Just that it's nearly at point where it has to be heard. Sorry to interfere but think you would want to know

Its this link to website

you.38degrees.org.uk/petiti...

Then search " thyroid "

That's the smaller petition. It's on website you.38degrees.org.uk/petiti...

And then search "thyroid"

"Many sufferers report greater benefits from taking Natural dessicated thyroxine but due to cost it is not easily available on the NHS. "

That's not accurate. It's nothing to do with cost - that's T3.

The reason that NDT isn't easily available is because it's unlicensed in the UK. It might be available on a 'named patient basis' if a patient can find a doctor willing to do this but very few are.

Is there a reason why only 500 or so people have signed this? Am I missing something? Surely this is what we all need? 100,000 signatures to get discussed in parliament? Are there other petitions active that are attempting the same thing that i'm not aware of? X

As far as I know it was only started yesterday it doesn't seem much support though I agree.

Vikkiod Sweetart It's a non starter because, as I said, it's nothing to do with cost, the cost issue is to do with T3 which is being addressed in various ways.

"Many sufferers report greater benefits from taking Natural dessicated thyroxine ***but due to cost it is not easily available on the NHS.*** "

NDT isn't being prescribed because it's not a licensed medication in the UK, it's nothing to do with cost.

If the details are not accurate, the petition won't, or even can't, be taken seriously. The petition is a non starter.

Does the person who started the petition even know that NDT is not a licensed medication in the UK?

I have sent Rachel Parker a message she uses thyroid group UK on face book,to see if she can iron out some of the details it's still circulating. Hopefully will get a reply.

I'd like to sign but agree that it could be written better. Does anyone know how to find Rachel Parker to ask her to modify it?

Signed and shared. I got a reply from the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health after complaining to my M.P. about this and the letter just gives the usual guff. It's going to take a hurricane to shift the NHS!

Have signed, but also agree it is unfortunately not well written - brain fog, perhaps? But many thanks to Rachel for starting it.

Signed. Will share with family tomorrow. Are we talking about the one that is 4 off target now. Didn't see the blip about ndt being costly. Is it ironed out now. I signed the one on 38 degrees site.
