I had hopes for 100k initially but yes we really need to get the extra 300 signatures for 10k else I fear the medical community will quote the lack of support as evidence it’s not an issue.

Agreed …..with 134,000 members…..vast majority in U.K. …getting to 10,000 should have been “a walk in the park “

We don't have 134,000 active members. That is the number of member sign-ups since the forum started in 2010. Many will effectively be 'abandoned accounts' as people get better and no longer need support. According to the monthly stats, we typically only have around 8,000 -8,500 active members per month.

Have just had a reply from my MP re this petition and its request. Last sentence being:

I will raise putting a significant proportion of the fine levied upon Advanz towards research with ministerial colleagues.

It might have no impact, but at least I know he is aware.

Have to admit, I cut his reply a bit short! The sentence before was rather more directed and specific:

I know that liothyronine is perceived to be an important medicine for a small proportion of patients in order to maintain health and wellbeing and am sympathetic to more funding for research into thyroid conditions and support for sufferers.
