T3 in the evening?

Hi there,

Does anyone take their T3 as one dose in the evening? I am thinking of moving my single morning dose to later in the day as I think it might be better for me.

If so, what do you do about missing a dose before a blood test?

Thanks!

Blue_Lagoon,

You can take T3 at whatever time you like. It's never made any difference to me whether I took T3 morning, afternoon or bedtime.

Leave 8-12 hours between last dose and blood draw.

Thanks Clutter, I will try and remember that

Yes, I do. I take my 75 mcg in one go in the evening. You only need to leave 12 hours between your last dose and the blood draw, so, if your appointment is for 8.30 am, take your T3 at 8.30 pm. Might mean you have to adjust the time of your evening meal, though.

Hi greygoose, thanks, can I ask, why do you take it in the evening? How does it help you?

It's more convenient, that's all. I haven't noticed it makes any difference either way. There are times, for various reasons - eating late, etc - that I don't take it at night, so take it in the morning. And, the only thing wrong with that is that I can't have my cup of tea on rising! But it's neither better nor worse than taking it at night.

So if you take a single dose in the morning and have a blood test the following morning do you leave the previous days dose till the evening or split the dose on the previous day taking half as normal in the morning and the rest in the evening approximately 12 hours before the blood test?

No, I just wait until after the morning blood test and take my dose as normal then.
