Following on from the good advice of this forum I pushed my GP for an Endo appointment to discuss my on going hypo symptoms. Long story short; Endo has said I need 20mcg of T3 to supplement the 50mcg of T4 I currently take BUT unfortunately as I live in Lincolnshire T3 is not be available to me on the NHS, he shrugged and said there was nothing more he could do and suggested a referral to the Chronic Fatigue Clinic for some counselling to manage my expectations. He also mentioned in passing I am Vit D was deficient. I have requested a copy of the test results. Seems along with managing my expectations I need to start managing my own health care outside of the NHS. I would be very grateful for any sign posting as to how to purchase T3 privately, please PM me, and also any information as to how to introduce T3 into my system. I also daily take 2mcg of Estelle (HRT) along with Menopace Plus. Thanks Jo

Sorry to hear that you are in this unacceptable position. Perhaps it's time to start self-medicating by obtaining your T3 online from abroad where it's considerably cheaper than here in the UK.
Perhaps explain the situation you are in via a new post and ask people to private message you with their providers. I am in a similar position, i have to source my own T3, although my Endo has agreed to oversee my case.
Thanks for the reply Musicmonkey, I believe you are right and self medication is way to go. I have had a couple of pm replies regarding T3 sources and I am grateful for any others too.
No one working for NHS is allowed to prescribe T3 at the moment because of cost! My endo was clear about this in January. I had already told my GP that I felt I needed T3 and that I was going to self medicate with Nature Throid. Endo said OK see you in June!! I feel great, normal and losing weight 1/2lb a week and am not on a diet!
