Welccome to the forum, Indrampersad.

TSH 0.05 is suppressed, FT4 and FT3 are over range. Assuming you are not taking Levothyroxine your results indicate you are hyperthyroid (over active). Please see your GP as you will need anti-thyroid drugs (Carbimazole) to regulate thyroid production.

If you are taking Levothyroxine you are over medicated because FT4 and FT3 are over range and should reduce dose.

TSH 0.5? Are you on any thyroid medications?

Indrampersad,

You are mildly hyperthyroid and 5mg should help block some of your thyroid production and normalise your thyroid levels. You should have a follow up thyroid test 4-6 weeks after starting Neo-Mercazole in case your dose needs adjusting. When you've been taking Neo-Mercazole for 9-18 months to regulate your thyroid gland it may be possible to wean off and attempt remission.

OK. What are your symptoms, why did they run a thyroid blood test?

I decided to have the test after I had severe hair loss and insatiable appetite.High cholesterol that does not decrease even after I changed diet

Your blood test results and insatiable appetite are consistent with hyperthyroidism, which suggests you need an increase in your neo-mercazole (carbimazole) medicine. Hair loss can be caused by many factors including hyperthyroidism, hypothryoidism and very rarely a reaction to anti-thyroid medications. High cholesterol is a sign of hypothyroidism but it can be caused by many factors including genetic factors.

I would see the doctor who is managing your hyperthyroidism and ask them to review your medication. I think you will need an increase but if they see you they can carry out an examination and plan the best way forward. It looks like your hyperthryoidism isn't under control at the moment.
