But not over range, does that mean no Hashimotos or just that it isn't flared up at the moment? Does everyone produce the antibodies?
My last blood test showed:
Anti Thyroidperoxidase abs 16.8 (>34)
Anti Thyruglobulin abs 13.4 (>115)

I have Hashimoto's and my antibodies have always been withing range, they are even lower than yours. Only once did Anti Thyruglobulin go over range but then lowered to a double-digit number, like under 20.
I have nodules and it is not uncommon for people with Hashimoto's and nodules to have their antibodies within range.
A friend of mine has no known thyroid issues and her antibodies are little higher than mine, still within range though.
I have always thought that people with no thyroid problems have their antibodies about 0 or under 5, let's say.
Hi Yuliana did a doctor tell you you have Hashimoto's? Because with antibodies so low you by all means should not be considered to have Hashimoto's or Graves for that matter. Many people have antibodies but the range is what determines if the antibodies are causing deterioration of the gland or not. Having nodules and Hashimoto's at the same time by the way greatly increases the risk of thyroid cancer (which would also present antibodies), so if that is the case please make sure you're having regular tests.
Yes, I do have Hashimoto's, seen on ultrasound. My nodules have shrunk a little, thanks to a suppressed TSH I guess.
So untrue that antibodies are always high with Hashimoto's! I have had it for 8 years now and my antibodies are within range.
It was only after ultrasound was done that they diagnosed me with Hashimoto's.
Until then doctor's had been telling me I was healthy and I had been left untreated when apparently I needed treatment! Which has only aggravated my condition.
Not having antibodies is not a guarantee that you don't have Hashimoto's.
Mine currently are:
Anti Thyroidperoxidase abs 9 (>34)
Anti Thyruglobulin abs 16 (>115).
Ah yes I have read that you can have Hashimoto's and not have antibodies. There is a lot about this disease that I don't know about, I "fit in the box" so to speak with my own Hashi's and I tend to forget that there are many cases out there which don't.
Thanks for clarifying!
Out of interest what country were you diagnosed in?
Bulgaria.
I thought it wasn't the UK.
Please stay around as it's informative to have posters who weren't intially diagnosed and treated in the UK post.
I have had my nodules since 2009. However my levels had always been fine. FT3 little over range, FT4 on top of range, TSH between 0.5 - 1.
It was a whole year after my first pregnancy in 2013 that I started to experience some hypo symptoms (so end of 2014) and doctors were telling me that it's not my thyroid. lol. My TSH went up to 2.90 from 0.8. And I was still considered healthy.
I self-diagnosed last year after my second pregnancy. Went to a more experienced endo and she diagnosed me on ultrasound.
The test itself has a certain inaccuracy.
You could actually have none of the antibodies being tested but see a low number result. That is one of the reasons for having a cut-off.
Having a few antibodies is common.
Hi, I've been (rightly) corrected by some members of this forum, it is not a guarantee that low antibodies = no Hashimoto's. Sorry for the previous incorrect information 😓.
