Really shocked They are saying it was heart failure, which my husband and I suspected last night. I know from personal experience what devastation pneumonia can do to your body, I was lucky with the strain I had, but it has taken two and a bit years to get over it, his was a lot worse than mine accompanied by other factors. I just can't believe. Ironically his "Last Christmas" song was an all time favourite in our family and always reminds me of my daughter as she was born the year after it came out.

My partner was in the same class as him, at school, for a year.

He was a troubled soul, hopefully at peace now.

I am very sad for two reasons, one to lose a man with such a beautiful voice and two to lose a man who used abusive substances which too often damage the heart, this is particularly sad for me as we have substance abusers in our family who give rise to similar fears. May he now be at peace and give thanks for all the pleasure he has given to people who so enjoyed his music.

Looking at his neck and in his final years the pneumonia and bloatedness - I would say he had myxedema regardless of any steroids he was on.
