Has anyone trekked at high altitudes with Graves disease? I have the chance to backpack and trek for 5 weeks in February in the Andes and am worried the altitude might make my Graves flare up again. I am currently 'normal' T4 and T3 on a maintenance dose of carbimazole. Any one had experience of problems with medication/ rise in thyroid activity?
Hi I'm looking to go to everest base camp and I'm in a similar position to you in terms of normal t4 t3 levels on a low dosage of carbimazole. I also have thyroid eye disease though. Did you go trekking how was it?
